Sometimes it's very tempting to try to mix political concepts with spiritual concepts, and once in a while I'll get questions about does the Bible teach socialism or does the Bible teach capitalism.
I'm not a political scientist, but the basis of socialism is a powerful group that lords it over an unpowerful group. And so we would say from Scripture that that's wrong, that those in power are not to lord it over those under them, but they're to be kind. Capitalism is a form of economy. And while I'm not going to speak to that particular term, what I can tell you is that in the Bible, the sign of God's blessing on Israel was a robust economy, which meant everyone owned land, because God uses the phrase everyone under their own fig tree and has their own vine. It means they're landowners.
So if you want to call that capitalism, you can. but a robust economy in a time when spiritual walks with God are clear and humble and good, God blesses physically and economically. That is his way, always has been.
