One of the most interesting questions in all of Scripture is that of angels. We're fascinated by them. I think sometimes as human beings we tend to be more enthralled with angels than we are with God Himself, to be honest with you. But is the concept of a guardian angel, so to speak, is that a biblical concept? Well, actually it is.
Hebrews 1.14 says, Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation? So one purpose of angels is certainly to serve the elect, but that's not their sole purpose. They serve many other purposes, and at the very top of the list of their duties would be to glorify God, to worship God.
There are angels always before him, glorifying him, honoring him, shouting, holy, holy, holy. But I think one of the reasons angels seem so mysterious to us is that while they are pervasive in Scripture, they're always downplayed. Very rarely do we get a glimpse of the glory of an angel as reflective of the glory of God, because angels always want to point glory to God and God alone.
