The question of blaspheming the Holy Spirit, wow, that's a big one. That is one that, as a pastor, I've gotten often, and sometimes it's accompanied by big wide eyes and a trembling voice.

Well, actually, it is not possible for you to blaspheme the Holy Spirit in the sense that Jesus defined it. Jesus defined blasphemy of the Holy Spirit as assigning to God actions that are actually empowered by Satan. When Jesus declared to the leaders of Israel, specific men, that they had blasphemed the Holy Spirit, that was a declaration against those men.

If you are in Christ, you might grieve the Holy Spirit and you might disappoint the Holy Spirit, but you cannot blaspheme the Spirit in the sense of never gaining the forgiveness of God. So instead, as Paul said in Galatians 5, you ought to walk in the Spirit. He is your comforter, He is your guide, He is your teacher.
